As a forward thinking membership organization focused on providing opportunities for sustainable growth, the TACC has increased membership by 11% over the last year. We accomplished this despite the economic challenges that Tigard, the Portland Metro area and all of Oregon have faced recently. Why? Because local business owners and managers have looked for cost effective ways to connect, market and promote their businesses and found them through their TACC investment.
We have a dynamic, engaging, welcoming and interconnected business community, where the collective experiences of our members are leveraged for mutual advantage. Our membership represents over 300 local businesses both small and large, all with a common concern -growth and profitability. As a result our focus as a chamber this year has been about providing value. We want to ensure our members realize the value of their membership and their chamber.
The TACC Government & Public Policy (GAPP) Subcommittee supports the Tigard Area Chamber of Commerce Mission of providing opportunities for consistent and sustainable long-term business growth by promoting public policy, rules and laws that support a healthy business and employment climate.
We are guided by the following objectives:
Preserve the competitive enterprise system of business by creating a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of a strong economy, promoting intelligent business and public opinion regarding local, state, and national legislative and political affairs.
Prevent policies which are detrimental to business, creating a greater appreciation of the value of competitive business
Promote healthy communities by: healthy communities by promoting economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all classes of business, and opportunities for employment.

Good Morning Tigard - WEEKLY: One of Oregon's finest networking events! A different Chamber member business hosts the event and provides a light breakfast, door prizes and provides information about their business. The 60 to 90 business attendees network with other Chamber members and their guests every Thursday morning, 7:30 am to 8:30 am. A great way to do business early in the morning. FREE!
Lunch and Learns: 2 times/month, the Tigard Chamber hosts an educational Lunch & Learn from noon to 1:00 p.m. on a broad business topic. Lunch and Learns are open to all, they are FREE, and are held at the chamber in the Pearson Community Room. Pre-registration is requested so the room can be configured appropriately. Tigard Chamber "After Hours" - MONTHLY: Unable to make an early morning networking opportunity? "After Hours" is for you. Monthly, a Chamber member hosts and provides a complimentary beverage and hors d'oeuvres. A good way to relax at the end of the day and meet people, make business connections with other Chamber member business owners, guest and employees. Typical times are 5:30 pm to 7 pm. Tigard Chamber "SPEED NETWORKING" - HELD QUARTERLY: Looking for a way to amp up your business connections quickly? "SPEED NETWORKING" is for you. Quarterly, the Tigard Chamber Ambassadors coordinates a Speed Networking event open to local area chamber members and non-members. Typically the attendance at this event ranges from 120-150 people. Expect to come away with a anywhere between 40-70 business contacts in a 90 minute fast paced venue. Nail that 60 second elevator pitch and plan to attend. The location of Speed Networking is the Embassy Suites - Washington Square. Speed Networking runs from 7-9 a.m. Check our event listing for the next Speed Networking Event. Pre-registration is required for all Speed Networking events. Tigard Chamber Bowl-O-Rama - SPRING: Have some fun, get some exposure, and bowl at the Tigard Bowl. This annual springtime event is great fun, offers opportunities for advertising as well as building business relationships in a relaxed environment and raises funds for the Tigard Chamber. This years' event will be Saturday, March 5th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bowl 3 lines, get your shoes, pizza and prizes all for $29. Check the events calendar for more details.
Shining Stars Awards Banquet - SPRING: This annual community awards banquet is held to honor excellence in volunteerism, business and education. Look for the banquet, and Silent Auction in the Spring of each year. This years event will be Saturday, May 7th from 6-9 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Washington Square, with Platinum Sponsor West Coast Bank. Awards will be given for numerous volunteer categories, a business excellence category and 2 $1500 scholarships to high school students residing in Tigard.
Tigard Chamber "Emily Bohart" Golf Tournament - EARLY FALL: This annual golf tournament is a golfers dream...named in honor of our retired Chamber employee Emily Bohart, for her outstanding work at the Tigard Chamber for thirty years. Shot gun start, scramble, catered breakfast and lunch, free beverages, team awards, door prizes, putting contest, raffle prizes, fresh air, sunshine and tons of FUN!
